A torn-up roofline after a storm isn't a "get to it next week" problem, and we don't treat it like one — Roof Repair Smedway answers, scopes the damage, and dispatches a crew across Derry fast.
Roof Repair Smedway grew out of Derry, PA job sites, not a corporate rollout plan — that's still how we staff every Roofing crew we send to Derry.
Ask to see our Derry, PA license and insurance certificate and you'll have it in your hand before the estimate even starts.
A roof repair that's "close enough" tends to fail again within a year, usually during the exact storm it was supposed to handle. We don't build that way.
Proof of licensing before the first ladder goes up.
A midnight call gets the same urgency as a noon call.
Every price is itemized, not eyeballed over the phone.
Faster arrivals because we're already close by.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
The earlier one of these signs gets a proper look, the smaller the repair usually stays; waiting rarely makes a roof problem cheaper to fix.
Shingles shed their protective granules as they wear down, and a gutter full of grit is an early tell.
A cupped shingle traps moisture instead of shedding it, which speeds up decking rot underneath.
Pinpricks of light in the attic are an early, fixable version of what becomes a leak later.
A spreading brown ring on a ceiling almost always means water is tracking in from somewhere on the roof.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
Even a small missing section can let in enough water to rot decking in a single storm.
Whatever the issue — emergency, routine, or somewhere in between — it gets handled by a crew that specializes in that exact type of work.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Derry, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
Commercial roofs run different membrane systems entirely, and our crews are trained specifically on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.
We'll tell you honestly whether your roof needs a full replacement or just a targeted repair — we don't default to the bigger invoice.
A proper inspection checks flashing, fasteners, ventilation, and granule wear before small issues become leaks.
If your roof has an architectural quirk, we scope it personally rather than forcing a standard fix.
Homeowners tell us the not-knowing is often worse than the repair itself, so we try to remove as much guesswork from the process as we can.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
You get a plain-language explanation, not just a number.
An itemized estimate is delivered before any work starts, covering materials, labor, and cleanup.
A final walkthrough confirms everything matches the agreed scope.
If you've been burned by a roofing company before, these are the specific things we do differently, not just a promise that we're "better."
Being local means we're rarely the crew still driving in from somewhere else.
Every estimate is itemized so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Our installers follow manufacturer spec on every underlayment overlap and fastener pattern, not general guesswork.
If the finished work doesn't match what was agreed, we come back and fix it at no charge.
Storm-damage jobs come with documentation formatted for how most Derry, PA adjusters review claims.
If a repair solves the problem, that's what we recommend — we don't push a replacement to inflate the invoice.
A verbal promise means nothing when you actually need it, so ours is documented and handed over at project close.
If something unexpected turns up mid-job, like hidden decking damage, we flag it and get your approval before it changes your bill.
We'd rather explain a guarantee in plain language upfront than have a homeowner discover the fine print later.
If your address sits just past our standard Derry radius, dispatch can usually still work something out.
Routes are planned around Derry's actual streets and access points, not a generic radius drawn on a map, which is part of why our arrival windows tend to hold up.
Coverage decisions are based on actual drive time from the nearest staged crew, not a fixed distance line on a map.
